I don’t really like talking about my ‘style’ or my ‘approach’ - only because I feel like a bit pretentious and don’t believe I have a particular way of taking pictures. Maybe I’m a bit of a mongrel photographer perhaps. I say this because my background in photography started about a million miles away from the wedding industry and I spent my time shooting surfing, street, travel and skateboarding. When I started wedding photography, I initially had a more traditional and safe direction, but it didn’t feel right. It was like I was just conforming to what was deemed to be the norm. I remember thinking a year or two into it that, in this day and age, shooting un-shackled - free of constraints was the way forward. When I turn up to a wedding nowadays, my favourite thing is going off-piste and shooting everything organically and by not adhering to the rules that I believe photography shouldn’t have.
Fundamentally I love taking pictures and see the wedding environment as the perfect place to be.
I know I’m indecisive, so if you’re not photo’d out by this huge selection of photographs, I’d welcome you to have a wee look at some wedding’s I’ve had the pleasure of documenting - HERE!
Anyway, I’ll shut up now and let you crack on with browsing. Rather than writing reams and reams about it (which I feel I’ve just done), I’ll let my photos do the talking and I hope you like what you see.
