A SOPLEY MILL WEDDING
When I first Facetime’d Ben and Colette to talk about their Sopley Mill wedding, I was actually in a noisy Starbucks in Thailand. I honestly don’t know how they kept their patience with me because I kept having to move to find a quiet area to hear them speak. I first started outside on the balcony but that was a no go because of the motorbikes, then I went inside which was quickly ruled out because of the barista machine blaring out the associated noises of making latte’s etc (as you would expect in a coffee shop), I subsequently tried the back room where there were flurries of noisy customers (again, as you would expect), I then headed back into the main area of when I noticed that it had quietened down but was forced back outside of the rear entrance when an onslaught of tourists descended without warning, where the signal was weak and the mosquitoes were in full force. Anyway, needless to say (and about an hour later) I finally could hear them talk about their plans for their awesome wedding at Sopley Mill in Dorset.
In short, this would be my last foray of the season on wedding duty and it didn’t disappoint…in fact it was an absolute belter to finish on. Gale-force winds and torrential downpours threatened to dampen and blow away (guffaw, guffaw - see what I did there?) all of the energy out of the proceedings but the immense tide of a buzzing atmosphere overwhelmed it all. These guys truly know how to architect the ultimate occasion and their wedding served as a huge, succulently sweet cherry on the top of a cake that was a blinding wedding season.
PS. Guys…a confession, I had three Krispy Kreme’s of the doughnut wall.
