ROSIE & SAM

A CLAPTON COUNTRY CLUB WEDDING

I don’t really consider myself having a regular job. Wedding photography for me is more a passion than anything.

It’s funny because sometimes people ask the question if I get nervous before a wedding but when I turn up on the day itself, it’s like I’ve got a blank canvas in which to create a photographic story on. That’s not to say the pressure isn’t on of course, but when booking a photographer, it’s about building a relationship with one another pre-wedding and from that comes the trust and faith in me that I’ll portray someone’s special day over and above expectations.

When Rosie and Sam first got in touch, we had lots of back and forth conversations on email followed by a well planned Skype conversation with me on my computer during one sticky hot morning in Sydney - and them 11 hours behind back in cold and rainy London. We instantly hit it off and I knew from the outset that their wedding was going to be off the scale . The venue was actually about 10 minutes away from where they live in Hackney (near the marshes) and it meant that literally all of their family and friends could be in attendance - cue a buzzing atmosphere.

On a random side note, unbeknownst to me, one of their guests was a former groom at a wedding I photographed (Becca, Adam’s wife, had other commitments that clashed with the day)! If this happened in Cornwall I would consider that a more than likely experience - but in London! Anyway, what was even more random is Sam, a musician (a really good one at that) played during the ceremony at Adam’s weddinG.

Basically, all you need to know before scrolling through the photos is that Rosie and Sam along with Clapton Country Club was an ultimate collaboration of a super cool couple and a quirky and extremely unique event space. Their wedding was an awesome occasion to witness and served as a prime example of why I love my job.
